Fabric Requirements

Button yardage requirements

  • A quarter yard of fabric typically will be enough fabric for any quantity below 100

    1. Half Ball: two times the diameter

    2. All other styles: three times the diameter

    3. Send extra fabric to allow for error

  • Download Order Form to include with each button ordered

  • If your button requires two layers of fabric, please order Double Layer option

  • Belt and Buckle fabric yardage requirements:

    • Belt

      • Fabric Width for belt - 3 times the width of the finished belt, example - 1” wide belt 1” x 3 = 3” width strip

      • Fabric Length for belt - 12" longer than the waist measurement, example - 28” waist + 12” = 40” length strip

      • INTERFACING- interface fabric with fusible interfacing for the following types of fabrics-

        • Silks- Habotai, Lightweight Taffeta, Lightweight Doupioni, Charmeuse, Jersey, Georgette, Crepe de Chine, and similar weight fabrics

      • Translucent fabrics- Send a lining for your fabrics that changes color with different backgrounds. For instance- Organza, Chiffon, Cotton Lawn, etc.

    • Belt Loop Keeper

      • 6" x 2" strip for a belt loop keeper on the straight of grain

    • Buckle

      • Cut the fabric for the buckle on the BIAS. Please send two pieces in case of mistakes.

      • Send an 6”+ square of fabric.

      • Covering buckles involves using adhesives, which can lead to mistakes. Therefore, at least two fabric squares are needed.

  • Ordering

    • Order belt and buckles on website. Download and clearly fill out order form - link below.

    • Clearly mark the right side of the fabric with chalk or safety pin

    • Ship fabrics to Bee Lignes

  • Delivery

    • Allow 7 business days to fulfill order once the fabric is received. Rush orders are possible with email approval. - sales@beelignes.com.

Buckle yardage requirements:

  • Buckle sizes 2" or less
    Send at least two fabric squares of at least 4" ON THE BIAS

  • Buckles sizes greater than 2" and less than 4"
    Send at least two fabric squares ON THE BIAS of at least 8"

  • Buckles sizes greater than 4" and less than 5"
    Send at least two fabric squares ON THE BIAS of at least 10"

  • Please note: Buckle fabric is cut on the bias

  • The process of covering buckles includes the use of adhesive which may result in error. This is the reason for including at least two fabric squares.

  • Download Order Form to include with each buckle fabric ordered
